What does pleasure mean to you?
I think so much pleasure is stolen from us as we grow up. We learn to be sensible, restrained, productive. We learn to distrust excess, to make ourselves smaller, to live from the neck up. Yuck. Pleasure is a revolutionary return to the sensuality of being so entirely, absurdly, gloriously in your body. It’s queer, unruly, excessive. It’s the feeling of taking up all your space, of wanting without hesitation, of licking the fingers of the world. Pleasure is the excessiveness of being whole.
