Pitch, Please: Moi #04 – THE FUTURISTS
The future is something we’ve always imagined.
An unknown. A promise. A threat. A projection.
Is the future you once imagined now your reality?
And is your current reality shaping the future to come?
Pitches close: 17th December 2025
For Issue 04 of Moi, we invite writers, photographers, essayists, eroticists, storytellers, pleasure seekers, journalists, sex therapists and artists to explore the future of pleasure, intimacy, technology, connection and human desire. We’re interested in the dreams, fears, predictions and possibilities that sit at the edge of now – and what they reveal about the way we live, love and long.
We’re curious about questions like:
What kind of futurist are you – utopian, dystopian, somewhere in between?
Are you hopeful, optimistic, apathetic, afraid? Why?
What future do you secretly hope for? What future do you fear?
What do relationships look like in the future – sex, love, attachment, family, community?
What is the future of pleasure, intimacy, desire and connection – and disconnection?
What role do you play in the future you imagine?
What futures were we promised – in film, television, literature, art and social movements?
Where did they get it right, and where were we wildly wrong?
How might technology be harnessed to create the future you dream of – or the one you’re trying to avoid?
In this issue, we imagine:
The future of pleasure and embodiment
How society, communication and connection may evolve – or devolve
Past predictions vs present reality (are we better off now, or worse?)
The technologies shaping our bodies, desires, work, intimacy and identities
The emotional, sensual and cultural consequences of “progress”
